MYKONOS

Mykonos might be the dreamiest, most beautiful place in the world. The white houses contrasted with the turquoise water is a sight you have to see at least once in your life. The problem is that the second you leave, you’ll be aching to go back. Here are some of my recommendations if you find yourself lucky enough to be on the island…

RESTAURANTS

Ifrati: Amazing for any meal. I would like to model my future home after this restaurant. The breakfast is incredible and if you go around dinner, you’re bound to experience an unbelievable sunset view of the town. ($$$$)

Remezzo: The food at Remezzo is incredible, and the view is even better. It overlooks the water, perched right on top of Mykonos town. ($$$$)

Sea Satin: HOLY view. This restaurant is over the water, with glass windows surrounding it. You feel like you’re eating dinner in the middle of the ocean at sunset. The food is also great, especially the Seafood pasta and the Octopus! ($$$$)

Avli Thou Thodori: This restaurant is more casual than the others. It’s on a cute little beach called Platis Gialos. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced compared to most Mykonos restaurants. It is definitely one of my favorites. Whatever you do, do not leave without getting the Lukumades (Greek donuts) and Vanilla Ice Cream – they are like fluffy, sugary clouds. ($$)

Koursaros: This place is a serious vibe. Go with a big crowd on the later side and then hit the bars around the corner. The food is amazing, especially the whole fish – deboned in front of you. Bottles of wine are a good call as well. The music and atmosphere are awesome for a younger crowd. ($$$$)

Scorpios: If you have ever heard of the island of Mykonos…you’ve probably heard of Scorpios. I’ll talk about it again when I discuss beach clubs, but absolutely do not leave the island without going to Scorpios. If you can, go on a Sunday and grab an early dinner or appetizers and drinks, and then stay for the party. The food is to die for and it is seriously one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. ($$$$)

Kiki’s Tavern: The past two times I’ve gone to Mykonos I’ve planned to go to Kiki’s but haven’t made it, unfortunately. I’ve only heard amazing things, though. It’s a fresh seafood grill, with no wifi or air-conditioning. So disconnect and wear something light. Order the fresh octopus – you’ll see it hanging from the restaurant. ($$)

BEACH CLUBS/BARS

In Mykonos Town you can find tons of cool little bars to hit after a late dinner. (Scandinavian Bar, Caprice, Alley Bar, Blu Blu Lounge, etc.)

Beach clubs like Princepote, Nammos, Jackie O’, and Kalua are nice to lay out at, get a drink, eat lunch, and dance. They can get extremely pricey though, so beware.

Scorpios, as I mentioned before, is heaven.

180° Sunset Bar is beautiful for sunset. They have appetizers and drinks, with a panoramic view of the city. This one is a must.

HOTELS

My Mykonos Hotel: Amazing little boutiquey hotel for a great price! The staff and service are phenomenal. The restaurant is amazing and the rooms are adorable. The pool overlooks the ocean and town and it’s quiet, making for a perfect relaxation break from all the partying you’re probably doing at night. It’s a close distance from town and the manager greets you, ready to assist in planning your stay. Along with the hotel, My Mykonos has villas in town and around the island as well.

Branco Mykonos Hotel: Branco is absolutely stunning. The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant and beach out front are just perfect. There’s jet skiing and other fun water activities readily available directly in front of the hotel. The food is insane and there’s an amazing store, called Soho-Soho right inside the hotel. You could move in and never have to leave. I’d truly like to.
