My Semester Living on Bondi Beach – Top 7

Bondi Beach is easily the most photogenic, delicious, and beautiful place on the planet. I mean everything is beautiful – the people, the beaches, the food. Oh my god…the food. Although there are a million places I’d recommend, I’m going to give you my personal favorites, starting with:

#1 Beach: Tamarama

My favorite beach near Bondi is Tamara, or “glamarama”, as some people call it. Tamarama beach is a little alcove between Bondi and Bronte. Clad with showers, a small cafe, and a grassy picnic area, Tamarama is a great spot to lay out or even go surfing. There are these incredible little rock pools where you can almost always find dogs playing, or topless models taking photoshoots (hence why they call it “glamarama beach”). A perk is that it tends to be a lot less crowded than Bondi beach, as it is much smaller and more private.

#2 Coffee Shop: Orchard St.

My absolute favorite coffee shop in the world is Orchard St. It is seriously heaven. I went every single morning and it was the best way to start the day! I will not lie, I have dreamt about the raw vegan carrot cake since the day I left Sydney. It is beyond. I also love the toasts, especially the Tahini and Coconut Nectar one. The elixirs are great – you choose a base (ex: Chai) and add in some magical fairy potion (aka herbs). You absolutely cannot go wrong, everything is amazing. This place is truly special and if I could transport it to Los Angeles, I would probably be completely and utterly broke.

#3 Hidden Gem: Gordon’s Bay

My friends and I stumbled upon Gordon’s Bay one day and were in awe. It is out of a fairy-tale. It’s just a quiet little bay where people go to swim or tan on the rocks. The water is crystal clear and it is a nice place to go for some privacy.

#4 Vintage Shop: Miss Brown Vintage

I’m huge on denim and cool vintage. This shop is awesome for both and it’s on the best shopping street in Bondi, Gould St. If you ever find yourself shopping in Bondi, you’re probably on Gould Street. It has high end stores like Tuchuzy, The People vs., and Bailey Nelson, to name a few; as well as cute, lower-end boutiquey shops. There’s something for everyone on Gould.

#5 Sushi: Bondi’s Best & Raw Bar

If you know me..or have even just met me – you probably know that I am a sushi fanatic. Sydney has such fresh and delicious fish. My two favorites on Bondi are Bondi’s Best and Raw Bar. Both are amazing and very centrally located. If you want to take an excursion outside of Bondi, head over to the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont where you can find many vendors cutting up fresh fish and seafood.

#6 Workout: Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk

The Coastal Walk is the absolute best way to start the day..and don’t even get me started on the Sunrise walk. The Coastal walk starts right after the Bondi Beach Icebergs and ends in Coogee Beach. It is a 6 km walk and is not extremely difficult. You pass through some of the most gorgeous beaches, and can stop along the way to eat, sun bathe, or just to admire the view. Don’t leave Bondi without going at least once. If you’re more likely to try the Coastal Walk for leisure and want to experience a serious Bondi Beach workout, try F45 – they’ll kick your ass.

#7 Brunch: Bills

I can be a basic avocado toast girl as much as any other LA native, but I’m also a big chick in a small chick’s body…so I like the biggest Aussie breakfast you can find. Bills is amazing, though it can get a bit pricey. Some of my other Bondi brunch favorites are: Lox Stock and Barrel, Brown Sugar, and The Nine…just to name a few.
